GNC Distribution Maintenance Supervisor in Whitestown, Indiana
GNC is a leading retailer of vitamins, nutritional items and health supplements. We currently have a Maintenance Supervisor opening in our state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled facility in Whitestown IN, where we continue to grow, and support both our retail and eComm businesses.
Responsible to directly support all maintenance and janitorial associates as well as contract service providers for the facility. The maintenance team this person will manage is responsible for the repair of all equipment and maintenance of the DC operation and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the safety, security, and cleanliness of the Indy DC.
Ensure that all repairs or adjustments to equipment and building are performed professionally and expediently as necessary to maintain production. This includes repairs, upgrades, new equipment installations, preventive maintenance (P.M.s), relocations or safety related changes.
Responsible for fleet of 25+ various lifts for the Indy DC, including forklift certification training and record keeping.
Responsible for overseeing the facility safety program and initiatives.
Responsible for partnering with corporate LP department to maintain the multi-camera CCTV system.
Manage and direct maintenance personnel to ensure the proper functioning and operation of all process machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
Responsible for meeting all maintenance and janitorial budgets and cost.
Ensure that adequate repair parts are procured and maintained within the supply room.
Assist with capital expenditure projects, project specifications, contracts, and negotiating cost effective solutions.
Negotiate contracts and manage vendors providing facility services: security, trash removal, vending and cleaning services.
Control disposal of assets, scrap, and unusable equipment as required.
Miscellaneous projects and tasks as assigned.
5-7 years maintenance experience; 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Experience with SDI Conveyors strongly preferred.
High School Diploma plus two year technical degree.
Ability to function effectively at both strategic and tactical levels.
Proven leadership skills including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate, and empower others.

Strong familiarity with electrical, mechanical, conveyor systems, HVAC and welding.
PC skills and ability to administer PM systems.
Knowledge of PLCs and experience with tilt-tray sortation systems is strongly desired.
Good problem solving skills and ability to work well with others.
Compliance with company policies, SOPs, CGMP, and all other government regulations (OSHA, DHEC, etc) as related to the position.
