GNC Payroll Administrator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Perform all necessary requirements that will ensure accurate pay calculations and timely distribution of payments to GNC employees using existing controls and processes. Analyze data as needed to solve problems and improve current processes/controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process all payroll information for the accurate calculation and timely distribution of payments to all General Nutrition employees. Examples are: discrepancies, retroactive pay calculations, severance payments, etc.

  • Run and monitor payroll processes as required in rotation within Payroll Team.

  • Research all pay and exceptions on error reports, edits, and queries making the necessary adjustments for accurate payment to employees.

  • Analyze and verify payroll information as required by payroll supervisor. Analyze tax queries and prepare tax or taxable income adjustments, as needed.

  • Maintain data monitoring for trend analysis and other management needs (ex. Check usage log, Canada ACH Limit, etc).

  • Prepare data files or reports and distribute timely to appropriate departments as required.

  • Develop or update payroll department documented procedures.

  • Resolve employee problems when contacted by telephone or email.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • Minimum high school diploma required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.

  • 1+ years progressive payroll experience required

  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
