GNC Network Architect in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania
The Network Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of complex LAN/WAN solutions for the enterprise environment of GNC. This position will recommend, review, and approve network hardware and software solutions, as well as conceptual and logical network design proposals. The incumbent will develop and implement solutions to manage and report network availability, performance, and reliability as well as act as the subject matter expert for all network and network security issues and engagements.
Lead the architecture design and support for the enterprise network portfolio, oversight of 3rd party support
Design and Implement LAN and WAN Enterprise architectures in response to identified business needs
Analyze and recommend changes to adjust and tune network elements to meet capacity and performance demands
Troubleshoot and identify the root cause of major network outages and problems, working independently or with other team members or cross-department groups
Independently manage multiple short- and long-term projects while adhering to all project management standards
Research and recommend designs and modifications to Enterprise networks to further Corporate strategies and goals
Maximize network performance through implementation of Network management tools and monitoring systems
Design backup and recovery strategies and participate in disaster recovery tests
Keeps abreast of new technologies and recommends solutions that benefit the Company
Actively develops and maintains network architecture documentation and diagrams

Responsible for supervising multiple projects.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
8+ years progressive Architecture experience installing, supporting, troubleshooting LAN/WAN/SD-WAN network hardware and software (Cisco, Juniper, Silver Peak, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Brocade experience desirable).
Azure experience preferred
5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
Expert knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, routing and switching theory
Advanced knowledge of Firewall application and administration
Advanced knowledge of VPN technologies, including IPSEC, site to site access, and remote user access
Expert knowledge of wireless technologies
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Advanced knowledge of IDS/IPS systems and best practices
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
