GNC Logistics Analyst in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The Transportation Analyst – Multi-mode (focus on Trucking operations) and TMS processes, is responsible for managing transportation management business processes (i.e. procurement, Freight Bill Audit & Payment, Shipment Planning & Execution) to ensure we provide the best solution and meet customer requirements. This position will handle analysis and tasks driving continuous cost and service improvement by recommending and implementing stated improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for transportation utilization and mode analysis of all movement within GNC's transportation network, with a focus on Truckload, LTL and Inter-modal operations.
Develop functional expertise in Transportation, Supply Chain Operations by identifying key performance drivers of each area
Perform data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis; while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility.
Develop and maintain cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models to support growing domestic & wholesale business units
Develop, and analyze key performance metrics and make data-driven operational recommendations based on these analyses to meet and exceed GNC's customer service and financial targets
Manage the "charge-back" process as it related to GNC and Vendor Compliance programs as needed
Correspond with carriers by phone and/or email to request tracking updates and appt. scheduling
Administer and manage GNC's carrier scorecard programs to monitor overall carrier performance against goals and expectations
Build and maintain partnerships with vendors and GNC's carrier base through timely and data-driven feedback to improve cost and service performance
Support and coordinate with RFPs and carrier bids to improve GNC's transportation network costs and service
Responsible for project management and oversight of initiatives to generate cost savings, cost avoidance and/or service improvements to GNC's transportation network
Assist in the analysis of transportation costs and budgets for all of GNC's transportation spend categories
Responsible for monthly reporting analysis for transportation as well as budget development for transportation
Partner with Logistics Leadership to identify process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis
Assist Transport team as needed in tracking, dispatching and confirming loading details

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
2+ years progressive supply chain, transportation, or logistics experience preferred
Ability to demonstrate fluency in logistics analysis (KPI, Metric Reporting)
Experience and knowledge of Truckload, LTL and Inter-modal in a high volume retail environment
Forecasting and P&L analysis, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Basic knowledge of DOT regulations required, working knowledge preferred.
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
