GNC Internship - Product Development in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

The Internship in Product Develpment will focus on reviewing scientific literature and studies to support GNC4U.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Reviewing published literature on nutrition and genetics

  • Creating summaries of each study and entering it into a database

  • Information must be accurate and thorough

  • Create dataset that will become the reference document for the entire GNC4U project

  • Partner with cross-functional product development teams

  • Collaborate with the department to set category and product vision based on consumer insights and market potential

  • Actively participate in department meetings and conference calls

  • Adhere to quality and other required standards

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Nutrition, Nutrigenomics or a related field

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
