GNC Applications Architect in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania
The Applications Architect will play an important role in the design and analysis of software projects. The Application Architect will create new applications or improve existing applications, run software tests, develop product prototypes and create technical documents and manuals relating to application development. The Application Architect will plan, design, and implement advanced architecture to meet business, security, and compliance requirements. This role will evaluate application technologies and make recommendations for best uses for GNC.
Works with the Enterprise Architecture Solutions Team to develop and implement solutions across the enterprise working closely with IT Marketing and E-Commerce teams
Lead the architecture design and support for the enterprise application portfolio, including third-party and custom applications for enterprise-wide capabilities
Recommend alternatives for how to migrate the application portfolio to best align with business needs and to optimize maintainability and performance
Lead evaluation of purchased software alternatives
Architect the composition of custom-built solutions
Ensure technical designs comply with architecture guiding principles
Work with other architects on enterprise-wide IT strategies and technologies
Design solutions for high availability and disaster recovery
Evaluate and recommend application development and support technologie
Train other team members in areas of programming and software development including: Networking, System Management, Cloud, VMWare, Citrix, Load Balancers, Storage and backup, IT Security, and Enterprise Applications such as Exchange, Active Directory, Identity Management, Enterprise Monitoring, Web Application and Middleware Server
Additional duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
8+ years progressive IT business unit(s), within Infrastructure or Architecture experience required
5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
.NET Framework and .NET Core understanding of different development patterns such as MVC (Model View Controller)
Expertise in C#, JQuery, SQL
Ability to create OpenAPI specification and use it for top-down and bottom-up generation of code/specification
Working knowledge of Source Code Repositories – TFS and Git. Direct work experience in setting Azure DevOps CICD.
Experience in micro services with a deep understanding of Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, ARM Templates, Containers, Angular Development
Working knowledge on OAuth 2.0 grant types to secure micro services
Understanding on container technology and container orchestration platforms. Ability to comprehend how the micro services are packaged and deployed into any one of the platforms.
Experience in Azure API management, Azure SQL DB, Key-Vault, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid.
Understanding of best practices and guidelines
Ability to handle Onsite - Offshore co-ordination
Azure certification is preferable
Experience with SDLC methodologies preferred
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
Knowledge of Agile Development and willingness to work in 2 Week Sprints and Azure DevOps tracking
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients with a focus on strong EQ
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud is a Plus
