GNC National Account Manager in LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas
The National Account Manager, Wholesale will strategically develop and drive new sales growth opportunities for the GNC Brand. They will continually manage relationships with existing GNC Wholesale accounts – specifically Walmart, Inc. This role requires regular travel to meet with new/existing business partners, in order to drive meaningful customer touch points, channels of revenue, manage profitability, grow revenue and overall account management. This person must maintain high-level customer contacts and relationships.
Manage the end-to-end sales process for all opportunities including initial customer sourcing and communication, on-site presentations, assortment development, negotiation, and deal/contract execution.
Responsible to be the focal point for all communication, relationship and sales activities with new prospects and existing customers.
Align the client and company strategy with the retail accounts direction and goals.
Develop and cultivate a pipeline of new growth opportunities.
Build new relationships and maintain current relationships with all levels of the retail customer.
Identify gaps with current partnerships.
Develop customer business plans that take into account long-term goals, strategies and results.
Collaborate with key internal partners to define overall brand strategies, and then design strategic sales plans that align with brand and category objectives by account and marketplace to achieve sales targets.
Manage and execute strategies to meet and or exceed sales goals.
Manage forecasting and reporting with internal & external partners to ensure appropriate inventory management, ship rates and customer satisfaction.
Develop strategies for profitably growing this customer and categories.
Works cross-functionally within the organization.
Maintain an awareness of trends in the industry, competition and account changes.
Develop and curate strategic assortments, new products and solutions to best service the target customers’ needs.
Additional duties as assigned.
Responsible for supervising multiple projects.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
8+ years of field sales experience required, preferably with key national retailer accounts within a consumer goods company or dietary supplement company
5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
Prior managerial/supervisory experience
Be an energetic self-starter and possess an excellent knowledge of the industry marketplace and business drivers
Thorough knowledge of key metric levers and how to use them to create increased profitability and sales for both GNC and its’ retail business partners
Ability to lay out practical and logical assortment plans based on retail space, inventory turn, and sell through
Ability to portray a confident and winning attitude in challenging business interactions
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with both internal and external contacts
Proven background that reflects being results-oriented
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
